The format of the day will include inspirational keynote addresses interspersed with interactive breakout sessions in which you can learn about specific subjects and get answers to your questions.  There will be exhibitors (screened by HAT) offering opportunities to take your skiing further.

Mark Jones

Mark Jones ICE ski intructorMark Jones on getting your technique to the next level.  Mark is at the pinnacle of ski instruction. He trains, assesses and examines Ski instructors through all levels of Instructor qualification. This uniquely places him at the cutting edge of what is happening in Ski Coaching globally.

He is a BASI Trainer and member of the British Demonstration ski Team and represented the UK at the International Ski Instructors Congress. Off the slopes, Mark is the technical editor of Ski and Board Magazine and is responsible for writing the technical articles on how to improve your skiing and also reviewing the equipment for the forthcoming season. There are few people that know more than Mark about ski technique and equipment. He is on hand to provide advice throughout the course on equipment and set up.

Henry Schniewind

Henry Schniewind on becoming confident to explore the off piste.  Henry is an internationally renowned snow and avalanche expert who studied avalanche forecasting as part of a Geology degree in the United States and then moved to the French Alps where he works as an off-piste ski guide and director of Henry’s Avalanche Talk. He has given over 750 talks and courses in the last 20 years including presenting at international snow science conferences. He has published many papers and articles, often in the British press.

Henry delivers a risk management formula that will help you to see how riding off piste can be no more dangerous than the activities that you engage in every day. Henry Schniewind and HAT are endorsed by ANENA (The French National Association for Snow and Avalanche Study). Henry Schniewind is also a certified Professional Member of the American Avalanche Association and has many ties with other snow and avalanche organisations worldwide.

Squash has paraglided off the top of Mont Blanc, climbed Everest and in 2016 made the first official ascent of Khang Karpou 6646m
