Introduction to staying safe and have more fun
We know that a lecture style talk cannot convey everything we would want, nor give you much opportunity to ask questions. We bring what we teach in the talks alive on the snow about where to go, how to go and when to go off piste.
In just one afternoon we will show you the key ideas from our talk including - islands of safety, critical slope angles, clues about snow stability, terrain traps, ridges and convexities. You will also have a brief introduction to safety equipment including use of a transceiver.
Learn how to be a responsible and supportive member of any group going off piste
Discover how to decide – is it safe out there?
Insight into how the professionals approach decisions about going off piste.
Find out how much you do know and you don’t know
Introduction to beeper and transceiver training
Understand more about where to look for the best snow that is still safe
Feel more confident about how to make decisions that keep you safe, whether you go with a guide or with friends

I was in Val d’Isere at the end of January, and heard your talks – thank you. They were incredibly informative, and I was really impressed with the visual effects. Emma McDonald
Thanks Henry so much for the avalanche talk, it really was brilliant. I learnt so much that after all my years of skiing in the French Alps, there was so much I didn’t know or understand. I have already told quite a few friends. Daisy Harrison
