Nice fresh snow on leeward slopes today 9 April

It was windy and cold yesterday and snowed about 10 cm max in the Espace Killy area of Savoie. The winds have been coming from the North Northwest mostly. 

That has led to good accumulations on leeward slopes mainly South to South Southeast. We had a great morning off piste skiing in and around the Grand Motte sector of Tignes (see photos here above/below and on this link - click here). It was an avalanche rating of 2 and there was some instability on leeward slopes that was consistent with a 2 danger rating - for more info on the blasting/avalanche control this morning that we saw - see my last blog post here
