Hello, are you able to discuss snow conditions in North American resorts? I realise you are based in Europe and it is much easier for you to make judgements about the conditions in Europe but I am going to Colorado in the next week and have been watching the snow conditions for the past six weeks there. My observations from the Internet weather reports make me believe there has been modest snow falls of a few inches one or twice a week and a ridge of warm weather has been sitting over Colorado for several weeks. The forcasters are suggesting that in the second half of January cold air from Canada willl mix with warmer air from the Pacific resulting in much larger snowfalls.
I am unsure how to make the judgement about the stability of the snow pack given the recent conditions and the possibility of increased snowfall in the coming week, would you be able to offer any advice how to approach this please? (I shall be speaking to the ski patrol when I get there for their assessment but at some point you have to make your decision whether to try the slope or not).
Thanks
